A consensus of sort has emerged in the State unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party that senior leaders including MPs should stay away from giving controversial statements as it was affecting the development agenda of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Words have been communicated to the MPs and senior party leaders that they should not cross the lakshman rekha,” he said. Refuting the charges of party’s involvement in the controversy of conversion Bajpai said the party is against all deeds which are against the spirit of Constitution.
