MP officials on toes to implement BJP poll promises

Having won the Assembly elections with thumping majority, efforts have been initiated to implement the manifesto of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) that was termed as ‘Jan Sankalp-2013’.

Before Assembly elections, the State Government had prepared ‘Vision-2018’ document for the overall development of State involving subjects from all departments. This is the same document from which the BJP had taken points for preparing the ‘Jan Sankalp-2013’. Soon after winning the Assembly elections, on the directives of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Secretary Anthony DeSa on December 8, issued a letter to all the departments asking to prepare information regarding their departments and submit a proposal as how the manifesto would be executed in coming five years.

Tuesday was the last day for submitting all the details and the officials and their subordinates were on the toes in collecting the information the whole day on Tuesday. This is for the first time in the history on Madhya Pradesh that so prompt action has been taken in implementing the election manifesto. After winning elections, the parties recall the manifesto only after months, but it was the efforts of Chouhan that the officials returned to the work so soon.

In the year 2008 too, the ruling BJP had come to know about the points mentioned in the manifesto, after around one year. One point mentioned in the document regarding waiver of loans up to Rs 51,000 of farmers puzzled the saffron party for long. However, the party finally claimed that it was typing mistake in the manifesto.
