The MP Forest Department has once again gird up its loins on the lion translocation issue from Gir to Kuno. According to sources, its proposed budget of Rs79 crore includes Rs20 crore for various infrastructure developments and Rs59 crore for relocation and rehabilitation of two more villages from within the Kuno sanctuary. The sources said that based on the expert committee report MP Forest Department is trying to expand the sanctuary and have more villages relocated before the pride of Gujarat was shifted.
