The Madhya Pradesh Congress is preparing to launch a dedicated podcast studio at its State headquarters in Bhopal, a move the party describes as the first of its kind in the country. The initiative is aimed at creating an independent media platform that will allow the party to communicate directly with the public and present its views without depending solely on mainstream outlets.
Organisational general secretary Sanjay Kamle, who is overseeing the project, told The Pioneer that preparations for the studio are underway and it is expected to become operational by Diwali. “This will be the Congress party’s own media platform to connect with the people,” Kamle said, adding, “It is the first such initiative in the country, and through it we will be able to engage with citizens on issues that matter to them.”
The studio, coming up within the premises of the Madhya Pradesh Congress headquarters, will serve as a hub for recording and broadcasting podcasts on a wide range of subjects.
The party plans to invite subject experts to participate in discussions and provide insights into topics of public importance such as employment, economy, healthcare, education, agriculture, and social concerns.
By offering in-depth conversations on these issues, the Congress hopes to make the platform a credible source of information and dialogue.
In addition to expert voices, senior party leaders and grassroots workers will also be given opportunities to feature in the podcasts. This, Kamle said, will ensure that the platform represents both leadership perspectives and ground-level experiences, giving listeners a comprehensive view of the challenges and aspirations of the people.
Party office-bearers added that the studio will be equipped with modern facilities for high-quality audio and video production, enabling the content to be disseminated widely through digital platforms. The Congress sees this as a step towards modernising its communication strategy and reaching younger and urban audiences who are increasingly consuming content online.
The move also reflects the party’s belief that direct communication channels are essential in today’s evolving media landscape. Congress leaders have often spoken about selective coverage or biases in traditional media, and the podcast initiative is seen as an attempt to bypass those barriers. Through this platform, the party intends not only to put forward its own views but also to highlight broader debates on governance, policy, and public welfare.
If successful, the Madhya Pradesh Congress expects the model to be replicated in other States, giving the party a new digital edge in political communication and expanding its outreach in the run-up to future electoral battles.
