After electoral rout, now senior Bahujan Samaj Party leaders Naseemudin Siddiqui, Ram Achal Rajbhar and Mewa lal Gautam are likely to face more trouble for their alleged objectionable remarks against Swati Singh (now a Minister in Yogi Adityanath Government) and her minor daughter during their party’s protest against utterances made against Mayawati by Singh’s husband Dayashankar Singh.
With the change of guard in UP, the same lucknow Police which had earlier pushed the probe under the carpet claiming not to have found any objectionable comments by Siddiqui in the CD handed over to them for probe, are now planning to chargesheet the BSP leader under various sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act.
Sources said that lucknow Police had served notices to Siddiqui and other BSP leaders asking them to record their clarifications into allegations that they hurled abuses against Swati Singh and her minor daughter. Once these leaders record their statements, the lucknow Police is likely to submit a chargesheet under relevant sections of POCSO Act, which ultimately would lead to the arrest of Siddiqui and his party colleagues.
During SP regime, while Dayashamkar Singh was arrested for using profane language against Mayawati, Sidddiqui and his partymates got away despite using derogatory insinuations against Swati Singh and her daughter. The top brass of lucknow Police surprisingly chose to give a clean chit to Siddiqui and his colleagues.
