People who keep tenants by making small rooms in houses in narrow streets do not know what the tenant verification is.
Non-verification of tenant is a crime punishable under Section 188 of CrPC. Sentenced to one-month jail and a fine.
SSP Muniraj told that if the landlord poses a threat to human life, then a sentence of six months and a fine of Rs 1000 will be imposed on him.
People hesitate to get the tenants and servants verified in the district. There is a fear that they may not have to pay income tax by giving information somewhere. The police never share their confidential information with any department. As a responsible citizen, keep the tenants and servants in the house after police verification.
