Even as the BJP is fast taking the place of the Marxists in the Opposition politics of Bengal, the ruling Trinamool Congress is mounting more attacks on their cadre.
The Trinamool goons continued to attack the saffron workers this time brutally beating up Nandadulal Barik, a BJP block president at Pathar Pratima in South 24 Parganas, a stone’s throw from Kolkata. “I was coming from a party meeting on Thursday when they attacked me with lathis and rods,” said a seriously injured Barik currently admitted at Diamond Harbour Hospital.
A second Trinamool women worker was on Thrusday brutally beaten up at Falta also in South 24 Parganas, party sources said adding she was admitted at a local health centre.Meanwhile, a massive protest demosntration was organised under the leadership of BJP leader Tathagato Roy at DM’s office at South 24 Parganas. The DM had assured action said the BJP leaders.
The latest attacks come close on the heels of two teams of central BJP leaders visited Sandeshkhali of North 24 Parganas and Ilambazar of Birbhum district.
