Modi's Rambo act: Baluni serves notice to scribe

Published on:

Uttarakhand BJP spokesman Anil Baluni has served a legal notice to the journalist, whose reports about Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s “Rambo act” in the flood-hit hill State created a political storm.

News reports quoting the journalist claimed Baluni was the “source” who told the journalist that Modi rescued 15,000 Gujaratis in Uttarakhand. The Congress had grabbed this opportunity to embarrass Modi.

“The said news article has been published by you in order to create sensation and grab eyeballs without so much as to see whether the said statements have been corroborated by any credible source, though my client is not authorised to give any statement on behalf of the Gujarat Government,” reads the legal notice to the writer.

Baluni also denied having given any such statement (that Modi rescued 15,000 Gujaratis).

He said it was unfortunate that he had to spent his energy and time in taking up this issue when he was busy carrying out rescue operation.
