Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit the Kumbh Mela area and inaugurate the newly-constructed projects in the Sangam city and the temporary structures in the Mela area on December 16.
The Prime Minister will also address a public meeting in the Mela area on the day, confirmed a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party here on Sunday.
Modi is also slated to review the Kumbh preparations personally during his visit.
However, a meeting of senior leaders chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya will be held here on December 11 to finalise the preparations and other arrangements for the Prime Minister’s visit.
“The Prime Minister’s rally will be attended by over two lakh people from nearby districts,” the BJP leaders claimed.
Modi will inaugurate projects worth over `3,500 crores during his visit. They mostly relate to beautification of the city and projects in the Mela area.
Modi will visit the Sangam city a day after External Affair Minister Sushma Swaraj is slated to lead a foreign delegation of 172 countries to the Kumbh Mela area to make them aware of the facilities being provided there and give other details of the mela.
