To mark the conclusion of 15-day long Gujarat Gaurav Yatra, Prime Minister Narendra will address a massive rally of around 7 lakh booth-level BJP workers at the State capital Gandhinagar on Monday afternoon.
Gujarat Gaurav Yatra which was held in two parts —Karamsad and Porbandar —birthplaces of Sardar Patel and Mahatma Gandhi respectively on October 1 and 2 passed through 149 Assembly constituencies across the State. The two chariots had begun its journey from the birthplaces of the two great leaders travelled through smaller towns and rural areas and covered 4,000 km.
Apart from Gujarat BJP leaders, the Yatra was attended by top BJP leaders including senior Ministers Rajnath Singh, Shushma Swaraj, Uma Bharati, Piyush Goyal, Prakash Javadekar, Smriti Irani among others as well as Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje.
‘‘Booth workers responsible for around 50,000 booths covering all 182 constituencies across the State will throng Gandhinagar on Monday to attend Gujarat Gaurav Mahsammelan. We are expecting 7 lakh workers including page-presidents of the party. We have to make 1 km long sitting arrangement for the participants,’’ said Gujarat BJP spokesman Bharat Pandya, adding that the event will be attended by the BJP’s national president Amit Shah.
This will be the fourth visit of Prime Minister in his poll bound home-State in the past four weeks. After becoming PM in May 2014, Modi has travelled Gujarat for 17 times for some or other reasons. The visit on Monday would be his 18th.
The State BJP sources informed that Modi would visit again on 23rd October to inaugurate Ghogha-Dahej Ro Ro ferry service from Bhavnagar.
Unlike his previous visit, the event at Gandhinagar will be purely political as he would not launch or inaugurate any project or scheme and only address party workers. The event will be organised at Bhat village on the outskirts of Gandhinagar.
