Says vote out corrupt parties for looting J&K

Intensifying his poll campaign in Jammu region ahead of the second phase of polling on December 2, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday sought absolute majority in favour of the BJP and urged the electorate to punish those who looted funds given by the Centre in the last 50 years for the development of the State.

Addressing two back to back impressive election meetings in Udhampur and frontier Poonch district, a day after party released its 'Vision Document', the Prime Minister focused his entire speech on hard selling his vision for the State of Jammu & Kashmir and creating opportunities for all sections of the society. In both the meetings, the Prime Minister deliberately avoided any reference towards the contentious issues including Article 370.

Presence of a large number of people in both the meetings boosted the morale of the party cadre ahead of the second round of polling on nine Assembly seats in Jammu region.

Joining hands with the party candidates, Modi appealed to the voters to elect BJP candidates in the coming elections with full majority.

Seeking clear-cut mandate from people of all three regions of the State, Modi also targeted the two regional parties National Conference, Peoples Democratic Party along with the Congress for failing to develop the State bestowed with rich resources by the mother nature.

Modi even taunted the Congress amid thunderous applause by reminding the people that it was former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi who said when we send Re 1 from New Delhi to the grassroots level only 15 paisa reaches ground zero. Modi asked who looted 85 paisa during the rule of the Congress party.

Amid chants of 'Modi-Modi', the Prime Minister complimented the voters in the State for coming out in large numbers in Phase -1 of Assembly polls and defeating the machinations of terrorists. Modi said, "This is going to be the historic Assembly polls in the State of Jammu & Kashmir. "You have already defeated bullet and showcased the real strength of ballot".

"The whole world is looking at you. You have got an opportunity to change your destiny by voting out these corrupt political parties," Modi told the electorate while counting the short comings of previous Governments in the State who deliberately neglected the welfare of the common people.

In an indirect reference to the two families which remained at the helm in the State, Modi said, "Development has been stuck at the same place here for the last 30 years. Corruption, loot and emotional blackmailing has become a habit of politicians here. One by one they take turns and loot the money. Ever since I have tightened their screws, leaders of both the ruling and Opposition parties have been criticising me.

Reminding people of the State that he is the first Prime Minister of India who is visiting the State every month Modi said the Centre will not hesitate in extending help to the people of the State. But I will also make sure that we know where every rupee sent from Delhi is spent and whether the real beneficiaries are receiving the money and getting benefited.
