The day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s massive election rally in Bengaluru where he attacked Congress Government in the State and said the corrupt Congress Government is standing on the exit doors, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said Modi was morally unfit to be the Prime Minister of the country. Addressing a press conference in Benagluru on Monday Siddaramaiah called the Prime Minister a lie and said he was unfit to be the PM of the country. Siddaramaiah also said PM has hurt the sentiments of the Kannadigas by lying about central allocations to the state.
In his direct attack Siddaramaiah questioned his credibility as the chief minister of Gujarat and said he did not even appoint a lokayuktha for so many years. “What moral right does Narendra Modi have to talk on lokpal when he did not have a lokayukta for 9 years when he was CMIJ He is facilitating corruption. He is morally not right to be PM of the country,” he said. He also asked PM to produce document to prove his allegations of corruption in the State. He substantiated with some facts and figures to prove his point.
Asking the BJP to contest the elections in the state with “dignity” on the “basis of facts”, he said that the allegations must be substantiated with facts.
“Dear Narendra Modi, being the Prime Minister of the country, your words should carry high credibility. I would therefore request you to substantiate your allegation that corruption and misgovernance are rampant with facts. let us fight this election with dignity & based on just facts,” he added.
“BJP president was involved in murder case, he only speaks lies. Here also they are projecting a chief minister candidate who has been to jail. PM has hurt pride of Kannadigas by uttering lies about the State,” said Siddaramaiah .
He said the union Government led by Modi has been biased against Karnataka and has not given the complete aid as per 14th Finance Commission decision. “As per 14th finance commission, in last three years we were supposed to get 95.200 crore, whereas we got 84.500 crores, so they have to give 10,000 crores. This neither PM knows nor Amit Shah.”
“PM keeps making comments that he has given so much money to the states. Where do you think this money is coming fromIJ Its the taxes collected in the states which was sent to Centre. It’s our money which comes back,” Siddaramaiah said.
When asked about Congress social media & digital communications head, Divya Spandana’s tweet
criticising PM Modi, Siddaramaiah said: “I don’t support people who indulge in personal attacks.”
On PM announcing that Yeddyurappa would be the next chief Minister he said “BS Yeddyurappa’s government was a government that looted the public. I am not making any accusations, the lokayukta himself has said.”
He also attacked the PM for not speaking on the contentious Mahadayi water sharing issue. “There have been protests for two years asking for the PM’s intervention. This is for drinking water. The BJP rules in Maharashtra and Goa, but he does not want to talk about it.”
He also asked why the PM did he not waive off farmer’s loans, while Rs 6 lakh crore loans of corporate have been written off.
