Telugu Desam party, which sprung a surprise recently by joining hands with Congress party, has stepped up its attacks of the erstwhile ally the BJP with one of its key leaders describing the Prime Minister Narendar Modi “anaconda”.
Andhra Pradesh finance minister and a member of TDP Politburo Y Ramakrishnudu, pouring petrol on the anger of the BJP, said, “Modi is like an anaconda who has been swallowing institutions like CBI, RBI and others. How could be a savior”, he said.
He alleged a nexus between YSR Congress of Jaganmohan Reddy, Jana Sena Party of Pawan Kalyan and the BJP. “These parties hanker for power and have no sense of responsibility towards the nation. Hence they are supporting Modi who has been destroying national institutions and democracy”, Ramakrishnudu said.
In a strong retaliation the State BJP president Kanna Lakshminarayana called the TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu “statue of opportunity” and “king of corruption” saying, “he will stoop to any level”.
Addressing a press conference he said, “Chandrababu Naidu hastily ran into a group formed by corrupt leaders because he was fearful that his own corruption will be exposed”.
Ever since TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu met Congress president Rahul Gandhi and reached an agreement over forming an opposition alliance at the national level against the BJP the war of words between the two parties in Andhra Pradesh has intensified.
