Modi Govt stoking emotions to hide failures: Nitish

Published on:

Commenting on the orders for hoisting of tricolour in the Central Universities, which came amid raging JNU controversy, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday asked what this order meant. “A tricolour can be hoisted anywhere after the court order. Is there any restriction on hoisting the flagIJ” he asked and commented that the Centre wanted to create unnecessary conflict only to divert public’s attention from real issues.

Nitish said the Centre has badly failed on economic issues and development front and now by raking up emotional issues wanted to create such an atmosphere in the country where the crucial issues are put under the mat and emotional issues overshadow everything. “The JNU is on their target because this institution has majority of the students and faculty which do not subscribe to their ideologies. They want to demolish JNU and its traditions,” he alleged.

The CM suspected a conspiracy to implicate certain people in the sedition case without any proof. “Neither the Home Ministry nor Delhi Police presented any proof against JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar. If they have any proof of anti-national activity why are they shy of bringing the proof. The way team  of Supreme Court lawyers sent by the apex court was hackled and journalists attacked in the Patiala House court is not only shameful it proves there is total jungle raj in Delhi,” Nitish said.

He asked, “If making attacks in court is patriotism. The J&K MlA who is launching campaign in favour of Afzal Guru is being approached by the BJP leaders who seek his support for Government formation. What type of patriotism is thisIJ”

Saying that anti-nationalism cannot be tolerated nor anybody would support anti-India slogans but before leveling sedition charge on anybody there should be concrete proof and such a serious charge should not be hurled on hearsay and rumour. The people sitting in the Central Government should not think that only they are patriots. All people are patriots but they don’t need any certificate from them.
