Reacting to the Supreme Court order on Babri demolition and role of BJP’s top leaders, RJD supremo lalu Prasad on Wednesday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi eliminated his political mentor. “Who was Modi’s biggest protectorIJ Now the same person (lK Advani) has been eliminated by the BJP Government,” quipped lalu.
lalu was the Chief Minister of Bihar when the controversial structure at Ayodhya was pulled down by Kar Sevaks on December 6, 1992 throwing the entire nation into a communal frenzy. Also, it was lalu who stopped the rath of Advani by arresting him at Samastipur in north Bihar on October 23, 1990.
The RJD chief said those involved in the conspiracy to demolish Babri Masjid should be punished. “When the Government through the CBI is insisting in the court that case should be initiated, it smacks of internal politics within the BJP. Advani’s prospects of being appointed President of India was in the news but now nob-
ody will dare to take his name after Apex Court’s order. This is the Modi brand of politics,” said lalu in sarcastic tone.
