Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that India’s talent combined with information technology (IT) would make the country’s tomorrow.
Addressing the Google Big Tent event organised in Delhi via video conference from his official residence in Gandhinagar, Modi laid emphasis on technology related initiatives his Government has taken during the last decade or so.
This is the second time Modi is participating in a Google event, having addressed the Google + Hangout last year.
Modi said that the crux of present day politics lies in connecting to the people. Politicians have readily adopted technology that connected them to the people better, said Modi, adding how they have shifted from pen and paper to microphones and public address systems and from motion pictures to the era of television.
These tools have been extensively used for political purposes since their introductions and they have greatly influenced politics and in turn been greatly shaped by it as well, Modi said. These have become synonymous with politics, he added.
“Today’s web-connected world has brought about another paradigm shift with the Internet. This is not just impacting politics, but is in a sense fundamentally redefining it,” Modi commented.
