In order to look into train mobility and enhancement of speed on identified sectors, the Ministry of Railways on Thursday constituted a new department named Mobility Directorate which is part of Mission Raftar.
A senior railway official said the railways has formed a separate Directorate to focus on increasing the speed of passenger and freight trains. “The creation of Mobility Directorate is part of the Mission Raftar announced in the Rail Budget 2016-17,” said the official.
