MlA accused of rape still at large

Even ten days after the filing of the FIR against RJD legislator Rajballabh Yadav for raping a minor girl on February 6, the police could not arrest him. Even the claims by the supporters of Yadav that he would surrender on February 18 but he did not show up. Instead the Nawada MlA filed an anticipatory bail plea in a court in Biharsharif, hearing on which is scheduled on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the State Government on Friday shifted the SP of Nalanda and deputed Kumar Ashish as the new SP.

In Patna the police detained MlA’s son Akhilesh from Gardani Bagh locality and took him to Nalanda. He is accused of removing the evidence of the incident from the house where the girl was assaulted. The RJD has already suspended the MlA from the party.

However, the non arrest of the named accused has strengthened the suspicion that the local administration and police was helping him to stay underground. The National Commission for Women (NCW) team which visited Biharsharif found to its horror that the medical report of the victim was flawed. The medical examination was done was one lady doctor instead of a medical team and reported that the 13-years old girl was “habituated to sex.” When the NCW members Sushma Sahu and Rekha Sharma called the lady doctor to reply to their queries she did not reply and left the meeting in a huff.
