AICC general secretary and in-charge of Party affairs here in the State, Madhusudan Mistri would start his maiden four days tour of the State from Tuesday amid resentment brewing among the party rank and file for delay in the announcement of the State executive and district organisations.

This would be the second visit of the Gujarati leader to the State in order to strengthen the Organisation. AICC secretary and deputy of Mistri, Juber Khan is already camping in the state capital to chalkout the programme of the leader who would be visiting lucknow, Faizabad and Gorakhpur.  Earlier he was also schedule to visit Varanasi, but it has been cancelled in the last moment due to a high level meeting of the party at New Delhi on July 13.

With Gujarati v Gujarati agenda on cards in UP during the next lok Sabha elections as Mistri would be pitted against Amit Shah of BJP, but Mistri has to fight within the party to continue his winning spree after Karanatak.

BJP General secretary and in-charge of UP Amit Shah has already completed his second visit to UP on Sunday with holding an identical meetings at lucknow, Faizabad and Gorakhpurwhich would now be done by Mistri from Tuesday. However, Mistri is not likely to visit Ayodhya to have a darshan of Ram lala as done by his BJP counterpart on July 6.

Meanwhile party sources confided that the announcement of the State executive of Nirmal Khatri and of the district presidents have been kept on hold as per the direction of Mistri. “The new UP in-charge first wants to assess the leaders himself before approving the list,’’ sources said. But the party leaders are annoyed for delay in the announcement of the state office bearers and the district presidents as it was hampering the prospect of the party for the coming lok Sabha elections.

With the first phase of Madhusudan Mistri tour starting from Tuesday, the State party leadership has directed the existing leaders of concerning disticts to make preparations for his tour and be ready with information on issues to be discussed during zonal and district-wise meetings.

Out of 114 district and city Congress committees in the state, the Congress was able to announce chiefs of only 31 in May, while the remaining list of 83 committees is pending.
