In yet another crime against women in Uttar Pradesh, a 14-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped and murdered later by unknown miscreants in Kansganj district on Monday.
Police claimed, as circumstantial evidences pointed out, that accused were known to the girl and they might have killed her in fear of being identified after the crimes they committed against her.The police picked up the body and sent for post mortem.
Reports said that Kajal (name changed), a native of Jyotsana hamlet of Pahyali in Kansganj, had gone to attend call of nature on Sunday evening. When she was not returned till the night, her family members launched a search and also reported the matter to local police. However, the cops refused to take cognizance of the matter claiming that girl might elope with someone. The police also allegedly asked family members to search the victim on their own.
Reports further said on early Monday morning, some local villagers found the body of the girl lying inside bushes behind the godown of Bharat Gas Agency situated in the same area. The family members immediately rushed and identified the victim as their missing daughter.
The victim had several injury marks all over her body and also injuries in her private parts, pointing that she was sexually assaulted before she was brutally murdered. Police suspected that the killers were more than one and said efforts were on to nab the culprits.
Meanwhile, a 15-year-old girl allegedly immolated herself after being ‘harassed’ by her teacher in Gonda district.
Reports said Neha (name changed), student of a private intermediate college, was under depression and allegedly set herself afire on Friday. She was admitted at a local hospital where she died on Saturday night.
later, a suicide note was recovered from the girl’s bag in which she had accused her teachers — Deepak Kumar, Aftab Ahmad and Rashmi Kapur — for forcing her to take the extreme step.
Reports said on the basis of recovery of suicide note, the victim’s father lodged an FIR against the three teachers on Sunday night.
