All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president and MP from Hyderabad Asaduddin Owaisi has extended wholehearted support to Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s plans to enter national politics and work to build a third alternative to both the Congress and the BJP.
Talking to the media in Hyderabad he said, “Chandraskehar Rao will be a pivot in bringing together the non Congress and non BJP regional parties before the next Parliament elections. He will play a major role in the next elections and after that”.
Describing KCR “a leader with political sagacity, farsightedness and vision”, Owaisi said, “The country needs a leader like Chandrasekhar Rao and his thinking”.
Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad last evening K Chandrsekhar Rao had said that he was ready to lead the efforts to bring a qualitiative change in the national politics and that he was already talking to various parties.
Owaisi said that KCR’s statement would have a far reaching impact on the national politics. Alleging that BJP government at the Centre had failed to come up to even minimum expectations and there was no possibility of Congress emerging as an alternative, Owaisi said, “the whole country was looking towards the regional parties”.
“I feel the regional parties will have a very important role whenever next elections are held and I am of the opinion that K Chandrasekhar Rao will play a very important role in the election and post election. The country is looking towards the regional parties which are against the BJP and the Congress. People are looking for an alternative Congress is not able to matchup to BJP’s machinery and politics”, he said.
Owaisi paid fulsome praise to KCR for his leadership qualities during the struggle for separate Telangana State and his good Governance during last four years which made Telangana the number one State in the country.
“He is correct in saying that the people of the country are vexed with the bad Governance of the BJP and Congress has not and can not emerge as a viable alternative.
“There is a big vacuum in the country and I believe that regional parties will have a bigger role in the next elections and after the elections”, Owaisi said.
“Chandrasekhar Rao has the capacity, capability and acceptance and he will talk and bring all the regional parties together”, he added. He has proven his leadership by developing Telangana a progressive and number one State in the country through good Governance, Owaisi said.
When asked whether he will also be part of this formation, Owaisi said, “I am insignificant”.
He said that KCR’s statement was encouraging and all those concerned over the present situation should take KCR’s call for qualitative change seriously. “I am sure if KCR takes the lead he will be successful”.
When asked whether he will support KCR’s candidature for the post of the Prime Minister, Owaisi said, “let us not stretch things to that extent. I can definitely say he can and he should play a very important role in bring together non Congress and non BJP. I hope he will take it forward because it is the need of Indian politics that such sort of political formation should come forward”.
He expressed confidence that KCR’s idea will appeal to each and every one and they will join hands.
He also noted the anger and disappointed among the NDA partners like the Telugu Desam and the Shiv Sena.
“Chandrababu Naidu only wants implementation of the AP state reorganization act which the BJP does not want to do.
Being in alliance the amount of anger which is being shown by Naidu is there for all to see”, he said.
