A group of Hizbul Mujahideen militants has been trapped in a residential house in south Kashmir’s Dadsara village where hundreds of local residents made an abortive attempt to rescue them from the cordon. The security forces used tear smoke canisters to disperse the protesters before launching an assault on the holed up militants.
Sources said that a joint party of Army and local police cordoned off Mir Mohalla area of Dadsara village in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday evening. Around 9 pm, the security forces began a flushing out operation, a police officer on the encounter site said on phone. He said that two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the village.
