Mehbooba terms revenge-seekers as ‘illiterate’

Published on:

Chief of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday labelled those seeking revenge against Pakistan as ‘illiterates’.

Speaking selectively to a group of media persons here at her residence, Mehbooba Mufti said “In today’s world, only illiterate people will talk about war.  Both countries have nuclear arms. When there is an option of dialogue then there is no point talking about war. If there is no war there would be no retaliation. Those talking about war are just bluffing, those who are sincere will never lead their country into war” .

Mehbooba was reacting  to the ongoing war of words  between India and Pakistan in the aftermath of the Pulwama terror attack.

Immediately after the Pulwama terror attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had vowed revenge with many on social media calling for another surgical strike to avenge the deaths of the soldiers.
