Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and MCD in-charge Durgesh Pathak on Thursday said the BJP ruled municipal Corporations should collect around Rs 1600 Crore due to different Central agencies and internal departments of the Corporations and release salary of its employees.
Pathak said that the Income Tax Dept, DDA, parking department, housing department and others owe around Rs 1600 crores to the North MCD which the BJP can collect within a day as all they are under its purview.
“The employees of the Corporation have not received their salary for the last several months and are on a day-long strike demanding the immediate release of the salary. The AAP stands beside the protesters in solidarity and extends full support to them,” he said.
The AAP leader said, “The BJP ruled East MCD has not paid the salary for the month of November to the sanitation workers and the sanitation workers are planning to go on strike.”
“The BJP leaders are trying to distract the attention of people from the issue of the non-payment of salary. They keep blaming the Delhi Government, demanding an imaginary fund from the government. These claims of due towards corporations are completely orchestrated and to defame the AAP government. In the court orders of November 5 and
December 16 it was never noted that the Kejriwal government owes any money to the BJP ruled MCD. More importantly, the standing counsel on the BJP ruled MCD also never mentioned such pending funds during the hearing in the court,” he added.
