Maya mocks SP vikas yatra; calls it 'badhaal'

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati ridiculed the Samajwadi Vikas Rath Yatra and mockingly suggested that the party should have termed this yatra as badhaal (in a dismal state) Vikas Rath Yatra as the State is in a shambles under the present regime.

“The situation in the State is critical and a civil war like scenario prevails following the feud within SP’s first family. It is unfortunate that the Governor was saying that there is no constitutional crisis in UP. It seems there is a certain truck between the BJP and the SP,” she claimed.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Mayawati said that the thrashing of a MlC by a State minister inside the CM’s residence is proof of the prevailing anarchy. “It reminds me of the Guest House incident of June 2,1995. The Rath Yatra has no meaning to the people as they are frustrated with this Gvernment and want immediate relief from it,” Mayawati said.

The BSP boss said that the Rath Yatra should clarify before the people about the state government’s role in Dadri, Muzaffarnagar, Mathura and Bulandshahr incidents, which still haunts them. She asked the people of poll-bound State not to be misled by SP’s false development propaganda and said that the SP family feud was far from over.

She claimed there was misuse of Government funds by Akhilesh for improving his image and said that this money could have been better used for improving the lot of the poor and the needy.

Mayawati attacked Mulayam Singh Yadav for inducting criminal elements into the party. “As Mulayam did not act against those indulging in violence, his son too did not act against ministers and leaders with criminal bent of mind and they are defying directives of State unit president,” she pointed out.
