Half of the Bengal Cabinet would be in jail after the CBI completed its investigations into the Saradha chit fund and other scams after Diwali, BJP leader and the party’s observer for Bengal, Kailash Vijayvargiya said.
lambasting the Mamata Banerjee Government for turning Bengal into a State of scams, the BJP leader told in a party meeting that days are not far when senior Trinamool Congress leaders including its Ministers would be in jail on charges of corruption.
His statement came at a time when elections were going to be held in a number of municipalities and corporations in the State.
The ensuing civic elections are crucial for all the political parties including the ruling Trinamool Congress and the Opposition left as Assembly elections are to be held early next year.
“These leaders have rendered Bengal into a Bhrastachar (corrupt) State by indulging in scams. The CBI is currently investigating the Saradha chit fund and other cases. When the investigations are over after Diwali we will see half of the Bengal Cabinet in jail” the BJP leader who had earlier called for a district agitation against the Trinamool Congress said.
The BJP would soon launch a movement highlighting the misdeeds of the Trinamool Congress before the Assembly elections, he said.
The people of the State had brought Parivartan expecting that the new Government would give them transparent and clean administration but “in reality anti-socials are dominating the party and the district administrations including the DMs and the SPs are taking instructions from them,” he further said.
Attacking the Government for not fulfilling its commitments to the people the BJP leader said that there was no basic infrastructure in the State where unemployment and crime was the order of the day.
“The condition of the roads is deplorable and unemployment is rampant. The party that came to power had promised so much but delivered nothing in the four years of its rule. We will take these issues up soon,” he said.
Meanwhile, in what tended to buttress Kailash’s arguments on deteriorating law and order situation a man was killed and three others were injured in two crude bomb blasts at Kashipur in North Kolkata and Barrackpore in the northern outskirts of the State Capital, police said.
This apart from stray incidents of firing that left two others injured in South 24 Parganas and Bankura.
A labourer died while cleaning shrubs inside a factory premises at Kashipur and two others were injured when a crude bomb hidden inside the bushes went off. Police were looking for more such bombs.
In the wee hours of Friday another bomb hidden in an abandoned house at Barrackpore went off.
None was injured. The police were investigating all the cases.
