Manmohan Singh lacks credibilty: BJP

Few days after former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s criticism in the Rajya Sabha over demonetisation, the BJP came down heavily on him. The BJP also said that he “lacks credibility” for such an attack as he himself headed the most “corrupt regime ever”.

Addressing a Press Conference in Bengaluru on Sunday BJP general secretary Muralidhar Rao said he (Manmohan Singh) lacks credibility and he led one of the corrupt regimes in the country.

He said, “Manmohan Singh is attacking this Government for fight against black money lacks credibility. He himself in his 10 years’ regime, had not only failed in tackling black money, but was seen as heading the (most) corrupt regime ever in this country. He was responsible for accumulation of black money.”

Attacking the Government over demonetisation in the Rajya Sabha, Singh had on November 24 said the step was “a case of organised loot and legalised plunder” and reflected a “monumental management failure”.

Rao said, “I don’t value (Singh’s criticism) because he is a failed leader, who is attacking a Government and a leader who is performing and taking fight against black money to its logical end.”

Responding to a question, Rao said the long queues at ATMs and banks besides currency crunch would disappear by December 30. “That’s what Honourable Prime Minister has said. It may take some more time for the economy to become normal,” he said.

Rao also said people, including farmers, who have been affected by demonetisation, would be “rewarded” in the next year’s budget.

He said, “You will have a new budget in which all the suffering sections will get rewarded. He said the economic reform undertaken by Prime Minister is neither first nor last. He also said as the Prime Minister declared, the abnormal flow of funds into Jan Dhan accounts will not be allowed to be re-routed.

Ahead of the Assembly polls in 2018 BJP eyes to dethrone Congress Government in Karnataka. He said “Karnataka is a very important State for the BJP.  Karnataka is synonymous with corruption under Congress rule.   Congress wanted to fund the UP elections through corruption.   BJP’s fight against corruption will be in Karnataka.  The central unit of the BJP is looking for expansion of the party in South India under the leadership of BS Yeddyurappa in Karnataka.  “In the next elections, Congress will become a marginalised party, “ he added.
