Though man is just a step away from landing on Mars to tell the world that they have conquered the planet, it has in no way affected the belief of astrologers. For them, Mars is a planet which plays significant role in the present and future of human beings.
The planet Mars is a crucial and critical element in the constellation of stars in a person’s horoscope. “Mangalyaan entering the Martian orbit or Curiosity rover landing in the planet itself has in way reduced its astrological significance,” K Gopalakrishnan, ace astrologer, told The Pioneer. “let’s see whether they could collect some scientific data from the planet,” he said.
Parappanangadi Unnikrishna Panicker, eminent astrologer and tantric scholar, too is not amused by the success of the Mangalyaan. “Many space scientists and journalists had approached me to find out whether the mission would be a success or not. That itself speaks about the role of planets,” said Panicker.
Astrology is based on planets and stars. Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Sun, Moon, Mercury and Venus are the planets which determine the present and future of every person in this universe, according to astrology. “Person born under these planets will have characteristics associated with these planets. For example, I have found that people born with Mars turn out to be excellent police and military officers,” said Panicker. He also said that physical properties do not minimise the divinity of the planers.
Gopalakrishnan pointed out that Neil Armstrong landed on the Moon in 1969.
“That has in no way affected the astrological traditions. We still forecast the person’s future based on the position of Moon when a particular person was born. Science is different and astrology is different. Don’t try to compare astrology and science,” said Gopalakrishnan. These observations come in the background of many woman have to stay as spinsters because of the influence of Mars in their horoscope.
“If the planet Mars is not in the right position, marriage life of such women may not be peaceful. There is a strong possibility of widowhood because of it,” said Panicker.
