Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday attacked “speed-breaker Chief Minister” Mamata Banerjee saying “Bengal can never develop till there is a Government that promotes goondas, mollycoddles, infiltrators and backs the perpetrators of chit fund.”
Modi who was addressing a rally at Coochbehar in North Bengal wondered “how can your State develop when it is ruled by a speed-breaker of a Didi? How can it develop when it is backed by goons? How can it develop when infiltrators are welcomed” on priority basis?
Modi said the Mamata Banerjee Government had sullied the name of the State by protecting and preserving the chit fund scamsters. “You elected Mamata Didi with great expectations. But what did she give to you?” the Prime Minister asked adding “she only brought your State to disrepute with Sharada, Rose Valley and Narada scams.”
Five years after making the first promise — before 2014 general elections — to catch Ponzi scamsters Modi once again offered justice saying, “I want to promise you all that this chowkidar will make them account for — eke k paisa — every single paisa they looted from you.”
Attacking the Banerjee for playing a “narrow politics” with the progress of the State Modi said “there from Delhi we release schemes for your development and here this speed-breaker of a Chief Minister applies brakes on the projects so that the credit does not go to the Centre,” and wondered “why there should be mean politicking with people’s issues.”
That Mamata Banerjee’s recent diatribes on the Prime Minister only signified the her state of mind Modi said “the sleepless night she is spending these days only shows what happens to a person when one starts losing ground beneath once feet.”
The Chief Minister was losing her sleep by hearing the chants of “Modi! Modi!” from the people, he said.
Now when she was facing problems in implementing her plans to manipulate the elections “she is taking out the anger on the Election Commission,” Modi said adding Banerjee was trying all means to thwart BJP’s advance in Bengal. But no amount of unworthy amount means adopted by her to cling on to power will help her because “people have made up their mind to do away with your regime.”
