West Bengal Chief Minister has criticised the Union Budget placed on Thursday dubbing it as a “visionless, missionless and actionless” exercise which has nothing for the poor and everything for the rich.
Criticising the Government for its added impetus on FDI, Banerjee has written on her Facebook page that “only one positive sign of the new Government is established in the two Budgets (Railways and General Budget) that they have become a Government ‘of the FDI, by the FDI and for the FDI’.The new Government had “just started functioning with a political vendetta” she wrote adding “in both the Budgets it is noticeable that Bengal and so many other States are getting deprived.”
Insisting that the Budget “is not going to stimulate the growth and development of the poor,” Banerjee said that allocating Rs100 crore for the start-up companies for the rural youth though there are “about 55 crore of rural youth population in the country is highly insulting to them” adding “it is the morning that shows the day.”
Meanwhile in an unrelated development the senior leaders in the Trinamool Congress have urged Banerjee to raise her voice to get consulted before getting a new Governor appointed. “The Chief Minister has the right to be consulted before a new Governor is appointed in the State” a former Union Minister and an MP has told the Chief Minister urging her to raise the issue with New Delhi.
