Maken: Govt violating SC's guidelines on ad

Published on:

Congress leader Ajay Maken on Tuesday told the Delhi High Court that the AAP Government is violating the Supreme Court’s guidelines on Government advertisement by spending huge sums of public money to run ads in other States for ciriticising the Central Government.

Maken made the submission in an affidavit in which he has referred to recent newspaper advertisements taken out by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government, in other States, “berating the Centre for transferring officers of GNCTD.”

The ads also said the Centre has not cleared Bills of the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD), the affidavit, placed before a Bench of Chief Justice G Rohini and Justice Sangita Dhingra Sehgal, said.

The affidavit was filed in Maken’s plea, which is one of four that have been moved against the advertisements issued by the AAP Government.

The petitions alleged that the ads have been issued in violation of the guidelines. The matters were listed for further hearing on August 4.
