Asking people to make Yoga a people’s movement, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath appealed to all people to practise yoga on the International Yoga Day on June 21 saying it not only gives a person a good health but also makes an individual mentally and spiritually sound.
The Chief Minister, who inaugurated a yoga camp at the Gorakhshnath temple in Gorakhpur on Thursday, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi should be thanked for taking Yoga to an international level. “Once it has got UN approval more than 200 countries observe the International
Yoga Day which shows how yoga is helpful for the mankind,” he added.
Adityanath said though in India people are still not much enthused about yoga, in foreign countries people are running after it.
“Yoga is a craze in western world. We have a habit of deriding Indian culture. But yoga is one which had kept Indian flag flying high,” he said.
