Adding insult to severe political wounds that Ajit Pawar sustained over his much-discussed “urine” and “making babies during load-shedding hours” remarks, leading Marathi daily Saakal brought out by the Pawar family, has come down heavily on the deputy Chief Minister, saying that he had lost his “balance” when he used crass humour to ridicule a farmer-activist from Solapur.
The editorial headlined Baan Sutale Aani Tholihi, (consciousness took a beating, so did balance..”, published in Saakal made no bones about the newspaper’s utter displeasure over Ajitdada’s “insensitive” remarks, saying that the DCM’s statement which against cultural traditions of Maharashtra and ideals laid down by vetran Congressman and Sharad Pawar’s political mentor Yeshwantrao Chavan.
The crass language used by Ajitdada demonstrated an unhealthy trend in Maharashtra politics was a clear reflection of growing intolerance and indecent behaviour being seen among the politicians of the day.
