To mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Lok Sabha has come out with 2019 calendar on various images of the Father of Nation.
With the help of simple sketches of the belongings and things popularly associated with Gandhiji, the calendar provides a glimpse into the thoughts, ideals and timeless teachings of the Mahatma. Each leaf of the Calendar conveys very important and insightful quotations of Mahatma Gandhi. The texts and quotes used in the Calendar have been obtained from the original writings of Gandhiji and the artistic depictions of his icons have been done by Shri Sarang.
Officials involved in the publication of the calendar said that Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has vetted each page and gave guidance in each stage from concept to design. "Her intrinsic ability in keen observation and attention to even the minutest details has been very helpful. She had taken special interest in this work and had regularly held meetings to ascertain the progress," said the officials.
Lok Sabha's Gandhi specific calendar is an abiding testimony to the everlasting relevance of the Father of the Nation and his teachings, not only among the people of India but also among the global community at large.
