The statement of senior RJD leader Raghubansh Prasad Singh on Friday triggered a new controversy over the flip-flops in the Bihar politics in the run up to the 2019 general election. Singh, whose statements always created ripples, claimed that NDA would soon disintegrate and its allies lJP an RlSP would join mahagathbandhan as both the parties were feeling uncomfortable in the BJP-led NDA.
The RJD vice president said that the top leaders of both the NDA partners were in talk with the mahagathbandhan leaders but added that these parties would exit NDA once the seat sharing process was over. “The NDA will not accept their demands and then they will turn towards us,” he claimed. “RlSP chief Upendra Kushwaha is already fuming at the NDA over attempts to belittle him and lJP president Ram Vilas Paswan is highly experienced politician and ‘weather scientist’ and he is also feeling the heat,” he added. RJD supremo lalu Prasad had named Paswan a ‘mausam vaigyanik.’
Another statement on Friday that created some ripples came from Paswan’s son and Jamui MP Chirag Paswan. In an interview to some private channel the junior Paswan said he would have no problem working with Tejashwi Prasad Yadav. “Nothing is impossible in politics,” he replied when asked if he could join hands with RJD leader. “We both are young and working for Bihar and we can move forward to achieve the goal of Bihar’s development,” he added.
But his father and Union Minister, who is believed to have come closer to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, rejected RJD leader Singh’s claim. He said the GenNext of RJD has a habit of humiliating and abusing leaders of NDA and then extend invitation to them to join mahagathbandhan.
