life term to Mahato: Jailed Maoists warn Bengal CM

Published on:

A group of jailed Maoist leaders led by Arnab Dam started an indefinite fast on Wednesday protesting against the life term awarded to former People's Committee Against Police Atrocities leader Chhatradhar Mahato and four others.

In a representation to the Government they warned that the result of betraying leaders like Mahato could be disastrous for Banerjee. "If Mahato can be jailed for sedition then Mamata Banerjee should also be jailed on the same charges as she had held several meetings with him during the left rule".

"Banerjee is forgetting that she did not bring the Parivartan in Bengal alone. She had to take help from many others and now she is betraying them," the representation said.
