Discharged from the Ram Manohar lohia (RMl) Hospital on Sunday, Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu renewed his attack on the Congress over Telangana issue and said people of Seemandhra were worried about the future of Hyderabad.

“The way in which the division process is being done is objectionable. They (Congress) are not following any system or procedure,” he told reporters. Naidu took exception to what he called non-involvement of leaders from the State in the bifurcation process. “I am asking the Congress — Are there no local leadersIJ Are there no statesmenIJ” he asked.

Facing stiff competition from Jagan Mohan Reddy of YSR Congress, who has also aggressively pitched for a united Andhra Pradesh after getting out of jail, the former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister sought to play to the Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra saying people were worried about education, employment, revenue sharing, water resources and the status of Hyderabad, besides its future.

The TDP leader hit out at Congress leaders like Digvijay Singh, Veerappa Moily and Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde for their contradicting statements on the bifurcation issue. Naidu also appealed to the national parties to put pressure on Congress to provide “justice” for Telugu people. “Congress party should hold talks with people from both sides to resolve the issue amicably,” he said.

Naidu was on fast at Andhra Bhawan premises here and was forcibly evicted on the fifth day of his strike on Friday. The TDP chief was forcibly administered intravenous fluids at RMl Hospital, after his health deteriorated on the sixth day of indefinite fast.
