In a swipe against Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi's criticism of Modi-Government in yet another foreign university, the BJP on Tuesday quipped saying let him " campaign abroad for his party " , the BJP will do so within the country.
Asked to comment on the Congress VP's criticism of the Modi Government for "not creating enough jobs", BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav said Rahul was travelling abroad, giving electoral lecture campaigns and running away from the country. He said assembly polls like that in Gujarat are awaiting him at home. "We will run our campaign here, let him campaign all over the world. There are many other countries for him to campaign," he said.
Interacting with students at the Princeton University on Tuesday, the Congress leader said that the reason for the rise of Narendra Modi and also to an extent of US President Donald Trump was the "question of jobs".As against apprehension of a slow down in the economy, the BJP General Secretary suggested that demonetisation and GST were attempts to set "the basics right" for the long-term gain and "some pain" was natural.
"We have to correct the basics and the Prime Minister is correcting them right," said Madhav adding GST and demonetisation were " systemic changes" and by 2019 the country will have " a strong and stable economy". He claimed while demonetization attacked black money , GST helped small businessmen engaged in informal economy join the formal economy.
