In a major setback to former Gujarat DGP RB Sreekumar, ex-ISRO scientist Dr Nambi Narayanan has issued a legal notice for utterances made by Sreekumar during the course of the debate in a new channel on last Wednesday. Notice called upon Sreekumar to provide all material documents lying in his possession to substantiate his allegation within seven days of receipt of the notice.
Dr Narayanan was implicated by Sreekumar when he was posted as deputy director of Intelligence Bureau (IB) in Thiruvananthapuram. According to the notice, the former Gujarat cop has said, “I was not in charge of investigation. Narayanan is coming out against me because of prejudice, because in my earlier assignment as CISF Commandant in Thumba, there were serious allegations against him for his corrupt dealings. We inquired and found that this man was filing tenders in the name of non existent companies and then on basis of our report a vigilance case was started.”
Dr Narayanan, a rocket scientist retired from ISRO joined in service at Thumba Equatorial Rocket launching Station on September 9, 1996 as Technical Assistant (Design) and retired from service on October 12, 2001 as Director, Advance Technology and Planning.
In the notice the scientist through his advocate
C Unnikrishnan demanded to provide the documents within seven days of receipt of this notice based on which Sreekumar has made accusations.
