The CPI(M), CPI and Aam Admi Party on Monday lashed out at the Government for providing Z category security cover to billionaire Mukesh Ambani, saying common people have been left in the lurch as gruesome incidents of rape keep happening. The leaders alleged Government should take back the CRPF commandos allotted to the business tycoon even though Ambani said he will pay for the security.
“At a time when country’s police force is unable to provide security to its citizens, ensure safety for women, and even five-year-old girl are raped under their very nose, the Government has ordered Z plus security for country’s richest corporate tycoon Mukesh Ambani and even protection for his sprawling residential building ‘Antilia’,” said CPI veteran leader AB Bardhan, demanding the Government to take back CRPF commandos allotted to him.
AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal said the Government can’t justify that Ambani was paying for his security. “So can any person now hire CRPF jawans by paying moneyIJ Are our security forces meant to act as private security of rich and powerfulIJ”
He also accused media on Twitter. “Such a rich man can’t hire own security guards. And no media had courage to question thisIJ” CPI(M) leader Basudeb Acharya blamed the UPA Government for “providing protection to the biggest tax evader.”
“It is unprecedented that at a time when such ghastly and gruesome incidents of rape are taking place and people are demanding more security, Z-plus category of security is given to a top corporate leader like Ambani and the commoners left in the lurch. This Government is providing protection to the biggest tax evader,” said Acharya.
The Union Home Ministry had allotted ‘Z’ category security cover to Ambani. As many as 28 CRPF commandos with pilot and follow-on vehicles will be in security ring of RIl chief.
