After coming out of Ranchi jail and his meetings with Sonia and Rahul Gandhi, Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo lalu Prasad now has donned a new hat — he came on Twitter, declared to pen a book, started wearing tracksuit and now has announced to reach his voters kano-kano (ear to ear). Earlier, the same lalu Prasad had hit headlines with his one liner: Yeh IT-YT kya hota haiIJ
“Now I’ve told my leaders and party workers to reach out to people kano-kano,” he said, but when asked what is this kano-kano, he said: “Don’t you know kano-kanoIJ..It’s a type of communication to the people, voters, supporters through which we can send our message fast”.
The RJD chief also declared that his party’s proposed rally on February 23 has been cancelled as “part of the strategy”. “Instead of calling people to a meeting I will go to their doorstep and reach out to them kano-kano,” he said.
lalu Prasad whose rustic catchline has been his political USP for long in the country appeared in his original self when he was addressing mediapersons on Thursday, a day after he celebrated Makar Sankranti with gulping dahi, chura, tilkut and hundreds of party supporters and leaders at 10 Circular road residence of his wife Rabri Devi.
Earlier, the RJD boss had banged his entry on the social medium Twitter to connect with people and voters. “Change is the only constant and so we’ll are changing…now I’ve come on Twitter also”, said lalu Prasad on his Twitter account @laluprasadrjd. He instantly received large number of followers which “crossed the hundred barriers in no time,” said a RJD leader.
“Now people will follow me on the Twitter…but I’ll not follow them. Since time has changed and social media has become an important tool to connect with people my sons have opened my account on it”, said lalu Prasad who once had stunned the world of Information Technology (IT) sector famously saying: “Yeh IT-YT kya hota haiIJ”
Sources close to the RJD chief told The Pioneer that his younger son Tejaswi Yadav would now be updating lalu Prasad’s Twitter account on his behalf. lalu Prasad himself admitted: “My both sons use social media frequently in their mobile phones and tabs”.
Interestingly, a few days ago Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had termed Twitter as Cheen-Cheen, Chen-Chen which the birds do. He had also expressed his dislike for being on Twitter. Though, both leaders lalu Prasad and Nitish Kumar are on Facebook updating it occasionally.
Meanwhile, lalu Prasad has also declared that he would be penning a book soon “to expose his rivals”.
“I have decided to write a book to expose those who conspired to frame me in the fodder scam and sent me to jail,” said lalu Prasad.
While explaining a bit more he also added that his book would reveal a few interesting aspects of Indian politics, including the 1974 student movement against the Emergency as he was part of it under the leadership of socialist veteran Jai Prakash Narain.
“I was made a political victim of propaganda by powerful people who were threatened by his commitment for social justice. My book will be full of real stories and different political ups and downs of over four decades and it will also expose big names in politics on how they rose to the peak of power politics,” declared the RJD chief who recently came out of Ranchi jail after being convicted in connection with multi-crore fodder scam.
But, he would be penning his book after the lok Sabha poll as he was busy in forming a “strong secular alliance with the Congress and the lok Janshakti Party to take on communal forces”.
The RJD chief also reiterated that Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi would prove much better Prime Minister of the country than the communal Narendra Modi. “What’s wrong with Rahul Gandhi…why he cannot be the Prime Minister of the countryIJ...he will prove a much better PM than the communal Narendra Modi,” he said.
“You people must be thinking that I’m saying all this in praise of Rahul Gandhi out of sycophancy…but he is competent enough for the PM post,” he said the next moment.
While making comment on yoga guru Ramdev, the RJD chief predicted that this yoga guru too would be going on the path of Asaram Bapu.
“What rubbish he has been talking these daysIJ...I think he too will go the same way and meet the fate of Asaram Bapu,” said the RJD chief who earlier had welcomed Baba Ramdev at his residence in Patna over a glass of warm milk.
