At a time when Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar wants to keep his political cards close to chest while saying "raaz ko raaz rahne do", his political bete noire in the State, RJD chief lalu Prasad, too appears to be secretive on his political alliances for the upcoming lok Sabha polls. lalu Prasad, though, in his new found avatar of a health buff, is meeting his partymen over dahi-chura to celebrate Makar Sankranti on Wednesday to discuss the future political and poll strategies.
The political parties too are busy making alliances and partners for the poll everyday but they apparently prefer not to reveal their strategy before others. Coming out from the Ranchi jail, the RJD chief, lalu Prasad Yadav met Congress president Sonia Gandhi and his party vice president Rahul Gandhi too to put a final stamp over his party's alliance with the Congress.
The lJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan too had a meeting with Sonia Gandhi to make an alliance with the party but he bowled a political googly soon after coming out of the meeting and said that he suggested the Congress president to make the option open for alliance in Bihar, either with RJD or the JD-U.
It is said that lJP leaders are putting pressure on their chief not to make an alliance with RJD, instead go with the JD-U. Of late, some of the key lJP leaders like Suraj Bhan Singh and Rama Singh, reportedly had suggested this poll arrangement to their party chief Ram Vilas Paswan. Though, Paswan has not made any official comment over this, but skipping the issue he said that his younger brother and party leader Pashupati Kumar Paras has now been authorised to mull over the alliance.
Recently, RJD leader Raguvansh Prasad Singh had said that before asking for number of seats under alliance, the lJP should first name the winnable party candidates on those seats and this statement reportedly has caused heartburn to some of the lJP leaders.
Meanwhile, after formalising his talks with the high commands of the Congress, the RJD chief in Patna has refused to reveal anything on the issue.
later, one of his party leader said that alliance with Congress and lJP has been done and they would contest the lok Sabha polls together. "We're also in talk with NCP for the alliance and hope that they too would come in our fold", he added.
While taking dig at the Aam Aadmi Party's performance, the RJD chief said that they were trying to destroy democracy. "AAP has formed the Government in Delhi with Congress's support yet it missed no opportunity to target the Congress leaders", he rued.
The RJD chief now has become a health buff as on Monday he was caught moving around within his residence campus wearing track and sipping juice of sweet potato [sakarkand]. "Its good for health and everyone should take morning stroll and sip sakarkand juice to maintain good health", he suggested one of the visitor at his residence.
But, when some local journalists coaxed him to open up over the possible alliance with his party he refused to open up. "I've invited all my partymen and workers for dahi-chura on Wednesday and will also discuss with them the party's poll strategy", said lau Prasad who has been bare from contesting poll for six years after his conviction in the fodder scam case.
Significantly, when informed that a crack has appeared in his stronghold MY [Muslim-Yadav] votebank after his conviction in the fodder scam, lalu Prasad dismissed it vehemently and blamed the opposition parties BJP and JD-U for spreading such canards against him. "But, don't worry they will bite the dust this time in Bihar", he said emphatically.
