lalu, Nitish meet on Sankranti feast

The Makar Sankranti feast provided much needed platform for the meeting of two leaders of the allies of Mahagathbandhan on Friday. Cheif  Minister Nitish Kumar and RJD boss lalu Prasad had a cordial meeting first time after JD(U) leader’s swearing on November 20, when the CM visited him to greet on New Year.

lalu applied a tika of dahi (curd) on Nitish’s forehead and said he would continue to rule Bihar for 20 years. “laluji is my elder brother and he applied tika as a token of his love and affection,” the CM said.

In JD(U) circle lalu’s act was seen as a sign of continuation of the friendship between the two leaders and the parties and their alliance. Bihar JD(U) chief Bashistha Narain Singh who also hosted a feast and attended by both lalu and Nitish, said the alliance was strong and reports of rift were only rumours. JD(U) general secretary KC Tyagi who was also present said the grand alliance Government was running smoothly.

There had been reports that lalu and Nitish have developed some differences over the running of the Government and the CM was not very happy over RJD chief’s intervention in the official works. The two had not met during the past 45 days which further gave indication of differences.
