Continuing his tirade against RJD chief lalu Prasad and his family, senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi on Friday came out with yet another ‘document’ claiming that Health Minister Tej Prtatap Yadav had purchased 45 decimal land in 2010 from six different persons for Rs 53.34 lakh and the land is valued not less than Rs 15 crore.
Modi said, in 2012 this land was mortgaged by lara Distributors Private limited to Madhya Bihar Gramin Bank for taking a loan of Rs 2.29 crore. The company had opened a motorcycle showroom on this land. He said Tej Pratap neither declared this land in his affidavit to the Election Commission during 2015 Assembly election nor mentioned in his affidavit submitted to the Government.
“We will soon move the Election Commission about this discrepancy and concealment of the fact,” he added.
Demanding that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar should dismiss a Minister involved in corrupt practices and money laundering, Modi said protection of such Ministers was also a crime. “There is plenty of evidence against him for money laundering and possession of land and benami properties, but the CM instead of taking action was only patronising him,” he alleged.
On the land in Aurangabad district in central Bihar, the lara Distributors had established a bike showroom. Those on the company’s board of director included lalu’s daughters Misa Bharti, Chanda Yadav and Ragini apart from Rabri Devi having 1.17 lakh equity shares for Rs 10 each and Tej Pratap having 2.51 lakh equity shares of the same value.
Modi said the land was purchased not by the company but by Tej Pratap personally and asked how come at the age of 20 he purchased it for Rs 45.24 lakh and from where this money had come. This land is located on the National Highway.
Modi’s fresh salvo came amid the reports that lalu’s children are running chain of business companies. As per the website of Ministry of Corporate Affairs, his two daughters Chanda and Ragini are directors in four companies which are registered in New Delhi. Besides, they are other family members like Rabri Devi, Misa Bharti, Deputy CM Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and Tej Pratap, who are directors in different companies like lara Projects llP, AK Infosystems, AB Exports Private limited, Shivoaham Entertainment, Fairgrow Holding Pvt ltd, Sunrise IT Infrasoft Pvt ltd and Delight Marketing Co.
Modi said that a number of lands were in the name of these firms which are wholly owned by lalu family.
“This land scam is much bigger than fodder scam and it runs into billions of rupees which needed a thorough inquiry by the CBI, enforcement directorate and IT,” he said and added, “lalu’s mantra is: Garib ka nam japna, sab ka zamin apna.”
