Differences between two Yadav chieftains is evident when Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav called the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo lau Prasad Yadav as a Congress sycophant and said the Bihar leader gives statements to please the Congress leadership.

“He is licking the feet of Congress after coming out of jail and for this reason he went to Muzaffarnagar,” Yadav said, while addressing a function on the death anniversary of socialist leader Raj Narain at the State party headquarters here.

Mulayam’s anger was directed towards lalu because of later’s recent visit to Muzaffarnagar camps and statement against the State Government.

“lalu is dancing to the tunes of the Congress and was trying to impress their leaders for his vested interest,” he said.

Taking strong exception of lalu Yadav’s comment that Mulayam Singh could never become Prime Minister at Muzaffarnagar Yadav said: “Who wants his support. He is the man who opposed me in the past and now in future I do not need his support.”

Justifying Government action in extending relief to the riot victims Yadav said that the State Government has done which no other Government have been able to do. “Due to the Opposition canard the people got mislead and they gave anti-Government statements and these should not be taken seriously,” he said.

“No other Government could have done such a good work in the riot affected areas in such a short time. People and political parties should have appreciated the State Government but it is unfortunate they are making mockery of themselves by targeting the Government,” he added.

Hitting out at the Congress, he said that the UPA Government has failed on all fronts. Members of the minority community are angry with the Congress. The youth is frustrated and farmers unhappy with the policies launched by the Union Government.

“People should not feel frustrated now because Thirds Front has emerged as a viable alternative. It will work for the welfare of people and implement policies that will take country forward,” he said.

Meanwhile, the SP supremo also highlighted the ideologies of Raj Narain and Dr Ram Manohar lohia and appealed to the party leaders and workers to take the path shown by these leaders.
