K'taka elections: Rahul to release Congress manifesto on April 27

Congress president Rahul Gandhi will release the party's manifesto for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly polls on April 27 in Mangalore. During his two-day seventh leg of campaigning in the southern State, which starts on Thursday, Gandhi would also visit parts of Uttara Kannada like Ankola city, Mastikatte Circle (Kumta), Saraswati Circle (Honnavar) and hold a corner meeting at Bhatkal.

Manifesto is likely to have "something" for all sections of the society. In the run-up to the high-stakes Karnataka polls, Rahul had asked the Congress leaders to prepare a "people's manifesto", after taking the feedback of all the stakeholders. He has held six rounds of campaigning in the southern state.

On the other hand former BJP national executive member Nagam Janardhan Reddy and some other leaders from Telangana joined the Congress in the presence of Rahul Gandhi. Apart from Reddy, G Surya Kiran and others joined Congress at the party's headquarters in New Delhi.

Reddy, who had unsuccessfully contested the 2014 lok Sabha election from Mahbubnagar constituency in the state on a BJP ticket, quit the saffron party last month. Prior to his stint with the NDA major, Reddy was part of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and has also been a minister.
