A section of Karnataka Congress unit has come out in rebellion against State Chief Minister K Siddaramaiah alleging that the ruling dispensation has failed to act against leader of Opposition Jagadish Shettar for levelling “baseless” bribery allegations against party chief Sonia Gandhi.

AICC member TDR Harischandra Gowda has written to Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi that the CM is yet to take action on the subject of bribery allegations  which were found baseless on the floor of the Assembly. Gowda had taken up matter with Speaker Kagodu Thimappa and also sought help from State Home Minister G Parameshwara to nail down Shettar who had alleged that Sonia was involved in a bribery case.

“All these came out to be false and baseless and politically motivated, but Siddaramaiah and Parameshwara have not acted against those who tried to tarnish the image of Sonia. The party cadre in the State is also unhappy and,” Gowda said in his communication to Rahul Gandhi.

Gowda had earlier made similar complaints the then AICC general secretary in charge of Karnataka Digvijay Singh.
