Karnataka BJP has threatened to sue Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for his remarks on party national president Amit Shah. BJP strongman and party president BS Yeddyurappa on Tuesday took strong exception to Siddaramaiah’s remarks against BJP’s national president Amit Shah, and has threatened to file a defamation case against  Siddaramaiah, if he fails to apologise within three days.

Addressing a Congress workers’ convention at Hassan on Sunday,   Siddaramaiah had said had said “Amit Shah is an accused in a murder case and he would have been in jail had the NDA had not come to power at the Centre.”

Yeddyurappa expressed his anger over such remarks, and said that the Supreme Court had already cleared Amit Shah in the case. “It is irresponsible on the part of the Chief Minister to make such remarks. We would initiate legal action if Siddaramaiah failed to apologise within three days,” Yeddyurappa said.

Yeddyurappa spoke to the media on the sidelines of a  programme organised by the party as part of the “Vistharaka” programme of camping in different areas to create awareness about the party ideology in Sampangiramanagara, where he visited the residences of a few families from backward class communities.

Meanwhile, in a strongly worded statement issued in Bengaluru by Ravikumar State BJP general secretary sought an apology from the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for his remarks on national president Amit Shah. He demanded an unconditional apology from Chief Minister.
