Giving impetus to BJP’s poll campaign, ahead of Assembly polls in Karnataka, former External Affairs Minister and BJP leader, SM Krishna, addressed Parivartan Yatra of Yeddyurappa and expressed confidence that the BJP will come back to power.

Addressing the rally, along with BJP State president BS Yeddyurappa at Maddur, the Cauvery heartland on Friday, Krishna heaped all praises on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his economic policies.

Krishna, who joined the BJP last year after he was allegedly ill-treated by Rahul Gandhi was not active even in the BJP, but surprising everyone he took part in the BJP yatra, which is in its last leg of campaigning. He blamed Congress for the plight of economy. Hailing from Maddur, he has considerable following in the Vokkaliga belt, which is crucial for BJP to gain some in roads into Vokkaliga heart land.

Krishna said, people chose Narendra Modi to become Prime Minister as country's economy had collapsed under the Congress rule. He said that during Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's rule the Congress was in power in 18 States, now BJP has come to power in 19 States and marching ahead to come to power in other States as well. Krishna said that during his tenure as Minister for External Affairs he had toured many countries, but India's image has increased in the world after NDA, led by BJP, came to power in 2014.

"I have toured many countries while holding External Affairs portfolio, but the image of the country has increased many fold during the last three and a half year", he added.

Stressing the need to strengthen BJP, Krishna gave open invitation to his well-wishers and followers to join BJP and work for the party to re-capture power. Krishna, who joined in for the first time,  shared dais with BJP State President B S Yeddyurappa at the 'Parivartana Yatra', which has already toured more than 160 Assembly constituencies to woo the voters for achieving its mission of 'Vision 150' to make Congress Mukth Karnataka.
