KK Sharma takes charge as Delhi Chief Secretary

A 1983 batch IAS KK Sharma on Monday assumed the charge of Chief Secretary of Delhi. Sharma was earlier posted as the Chief Secretary of Goa and was the second choice of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who had requested Home Minister Rajnath Singh to appoint him if the Ministry could not approve Ramesh Negi, Kejriwal's first choice for the post.
Sharma, a 1983 batch IAS officer, had joined as the Goa chief secretary on January 1. He was last posted in Delhi as the Principal Secretary (PWD) from 2009 to 2011 and superseded five officers of his cadre if he is appointed as the Delhi Chief Secretary, including Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, Naini Jayaseelan, Vijay Madan (1981), Satyawati (1982) and JK Dadu.  During his tenure as Principal Secretary for PWD in the 2010 Commonwealth Games, Sharma had ensured to complete all the projects prior to the start of CWG in Delhi.
He had served in Kosovo between 1999 and 2005 on United Nations assignment.
After joining the Delhi Government, Sharma said that that his priority would be to implement Government polices at large.
